    Creativity- Mania vs. Block

Hi friends, Happy Blog Day! My last week has been a whirlwind, mostly chaotic, and I can’t say I’ve been as productive as I would like. This week our subject is inspired by the frequent ups and downs I’ve run into as a creative spirit. Any artists reading this… here is your trigger warning haha Around this time last week, I was flying high! Still riding the launch of my new ArtShop and the success of the first week. To-do lists were all checked off, and every immediate goal I moved toward each day, was suddenly behind me. What now? It made the most sense to continue to make and…

    Tending the Fruits of Labor

Happy Thursday friends! I’m so glad you’re here! 🙂 Last week’s post was a bit rushed and short, but I plan to take my time with this entry. So… buckle up, I’ve got a long winded spill coming your way.  I’ve had a pretty exciting week so far. Today marks one whole week since I went live with the online ArtShop I had been building. Much to my delight, I’ve had a number of items sell, and even had a specific collection of work, sell out completely! We’ll save that for later. Around the 2nd week of September, I began to work out the concept of my site, still being…

    Opening Day!

Hi there! and welcome back! I’ve fought a bit today with whether or not I would make a post this week (I’ve been so overwhelmingly busy!) but I figured, one that is short and to the point would be a better option rather than skipping another week. Over the past few weeks I have been finishing up work on a commission I had taken, and while I waited for epoxy to cure, I cooked up a number of artistic experiments. I made these new projects with the intent to sell them online in my new ArtShop that I’ve been designing on my website. I’ve been working tirelessly for the past…

    Franken Art

Hi friends! Happy Blog Day! It’s crazy how long a week can feel, and it’s definitely felt much longer than 7 days, especially in this case. Much to my surprise I still managed to have viewers on my week off, and I genuinely appreciate the visits and views while I was away. It absolutely made coming back a lot more enticing! Quite honestly, I missed unloading thoughts and I am happy to be back! For some more honesty, my week off was on account of a number of things, but if we get to the heart of it, I had started to run out of good topic ideas. I had…

    Text from the Vault

Happy Thursday friends! I hope this post finds you well. This week I have been so busy with other things, that I unfortunately don’t have a totally thought out post for today’s blog. Plus, today is my wife’s birthday!!!! So, I won’t be pulling out any tricks from my hat to wing a subject. Instead, I decided I would muster some bravery and share an incredibly old poem I wrote when my sweet Auntie Alice passed away. As it would seem, I had to do some serious searching to find my folder of hand written work, and while flipping through the pages… there’s definitely a wave of electricity in these…

    The 2020 Artist

Happy blog day friends! Thank you so much for being here! I hope you are enjoying the content of this blog thus far, and I hope I am able to continue to bring you writing worthy of reading.  Recently, I’ve been thinking about the many hats today’s artist is required to wear to achieve success. Maintaining relativity in today’s evolving, hyper-lapse, content overloaded, and “influencer” culture of social media, is an art in and of itself. I’ve personally found myself attempting to take the initiative to learn and understand the skills necessary to elevate my art business. Seeing that quarantine had forced me to reevaluate my time, and how I…

    Cards From Alice

Hi folks, and happy blog day! Today’s subject starts with one Alice and ends with another. I love the way these two ends meet, and the new directions it has taken my creative interests and abilities. Let’s start with the first Alice, my sweet great auntie. Our relationship was an easy one to adore, the flashbacks are filled with Bronco games, family all around, and some of the most amazing homemade Mexican food I’ve had to this very date. Fresh menudo, tamales, Spanish rice, green and red chile, enchiladas, and her famous hand-made tortillas! I credit her entirely (and the star players of 98 and 99) for the fact that…
